Cape Town - Sport24 readers have heaped praise on Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer after his team finished their end of year tour unbeaten.

South Africa ended 2013 with 10 wins out of 12 following a 19-10 victory over France in Paris on Saturday, recording their first victory over France in France since 1997.

They have lost to only one team this year - the All Blacks - albeit twice, giving them an 83.3% win ratio for the year, the third best winning percentage in a calender year by a Springbok side since readmission in 1992.

In addition the Boks achieved numerous milestones in 2013, most notably winning their first-ever Test over Australia at Suncorp Stadium when they beat the Wallabies by 38-12, and their first win in Brisbane since 1971.

This is what Sport24 readers had to say about Meyer:

"For the First time a coach is being realistic about how to move forward, and looking at how we must play to beat the AB's." - Zane Blignault

"HM has the master plan and the Boks are charging toward it." - Dono

"Meyer finally believes that the Boks can which is a good sign." - Kevin Robarts

"He should coach the springboks for the next 25 years..." - Gerhard Steenkamp

"I believe HM is an excellent coach." - Xrus Katenka

"HM is the best man for the job to coach the Boks we as supporters should stand behind the Boks and the coaching staff and support then no matter what. Well done HM and the Boks for a great 2013 season." - Wouter Van Heerden

"Heyneke Meyer is the best Bok coach since Kitch Christie.. ....HM is a rugby genius.. ..end of story..!" - Johnny Johnson

"I've been saying for years that he's the chosen one. Did the ignorant listen? Noooooo." - Spyker O'Flannagan

"He is great, looking forward to the next allblack match (I would make it dead even)." - Filibuster

"Heyneke Meyer gets an "A" from me. He has what is perhaps the most challenging job in South Africa. To beat the ABs does not just take a coach, but also the right players and some good luck." - Rocco de Wet

"It's refreshing to see the anti-Bulls brigade seeing the light, one by one." - SF

"Well done the Boks and well done HM. Now for the AB's..." - Greegs

"HM since he took over introduced some new blood and the Boks are not so 1 dimensional on attack any more like it was in the past. The Boks have a good balance between attack and defence although they can still make a lot of improvement so the job is not done. I would say HM has done a plendid job with the Boks in the last to years. Well done HM & Boks you made us all proud again in the Green and Gold." - WVH
