Springbok fans were worried that the players would carry their lacklustre form into the Rugby Championship.

Here's what Sport24 readers had to say about the Bulls loss to the Crusaders:

"What we witnessed today is EXACTLY how its going to play out when we face the All Blacks."
- Jaydedking

"That is a foretaste of things to come in the Championship." - NA

"The majority of the Springboks are drawn from the Bulls, Sharks and Stormers...start worrying about the Rugby Championship. The All Blacks are going to demolish us." - Selma Botha

"HM will no doubt select the same majority players from this team as Boks and give us same ole same ole kick and chase. No technique, no creativity, no plan B , No idea what to do with a ball...except to give it back to the team that knows how to use it. And that aint no Bull!"
- Nzbro Allblack

"From a full-on Sharks supporter, it was sad to see the Bulls go down the way they did! I expected more from them." - Denese Newby

"The Bulls were a pathetic excuse for a once powerful franchise with a proud tradition."
- Kenneth Loots

"And to think that was a half Bok team, lol." - Chris Booyse

"I am a full on Bulls supporter, but i hang my head in shame after that performance! It's time certain people in that camp (incl. the coach) were held accountable for the miserable performance by players on huge packages which are paid for by supporters and sponsors. Unacceptable!"
- Phillys Winterbottom

"Of all the players, I am the most disappointed in Pierre Spies. He was poor as captain tonight, and his form is questionable."
- Koper Koos

"Spies has the body of an Adonis, and the heart of a dehydrated pea!" - Klark Kent

" When Carter handed off Spies it was a mastercard moment...priceless!"
- Paul Sdoow

"What a downward spiral for Morne Steyn..." - graemeltd

"Steyn is a 'stain' in the Bulls team his amateur play cost them the game." - Coenraad Vaneeden

"Is there ANY more doubt that Morne Steyn is not Springbok material anymore?"
- Jacobus van der Merwe

"Mense soos Werner Kruger, Monre Steyn, Pierre Spies, Wynand Olivier en Zane Kirchner mag asseblief asseblief nooit ooit weer 'n Springboktrui aantrek nie!"
- Rinus Groeneveld

"As expected their 'Boks' are all Boks in name not performance."
- Nick Spangenberg

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
