Despite the disappointment of Pistorius' failure to reach the final of the 400 metres, South African fans were positive about the odds that he had to overcome to even reach the Olympics in the first place.

Pistorius will still feature in the men's 4x400m race, where he will still hope to earn a medal for South Africa.
