Ludicrous...watching what can be described as an exciting game, I was astounded to read the next day that a 2 game ban had been put on AB De Villiers and that the team was fined 100% of their match fees. I don’t think any spectators thought there was a problem with the over rate until the three umpires got together and discussed the situation.
It begs the question as to why there was no comment at all about a slow over rate during the match, and it was only brought up after the match was over, as a matter of interest the match was over before the time as neither side did their full 50 overs, so how does a slow over rate feature.
Do the umpires dislike the South African team so greatly that they will pounce on the slightest opportunity to discredit them.
With so much match fixing going on around the world it makes one wonder about the inconsistency in the umpires decision making.
An example is the catch taken by Nathan McCullum, it was called a good clean catch, but the same catch taken by Tsotsobe was called an unclean catch and ruled not out by the third umpire.
Surely it is high time as players are, umpires be held accountable for their actions and obvious inaccurate decisions.
I hope this gets published, as I am sure there are many who are of the same opinion as me in this matter.
