Honda hopes 'to end on high' with McLaren

Cape Town - Honda F1 boss Yusuke Hasegawa is hoping to end "on a high" with McLaren as the two parties prepare to go their separate ways after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

After three years of pain and agony, McLaren will link up with Renault next season while Honda are heading for a fresh start with Toro Rosso.

But before that happens, Honda are wanting to go out with a bang, so to speak.

"The weekend is significant as it is our final race as McLaren-Honda," said Hasegawa.

"Despite this, everyone will be fully focussed on extracting the full potential from our package and continuing the momentum we have built over the last few races.

"I am incredibly proud of how hard everyone in the team has worked this this season.

"I hope that we can end the year on a high, not just for them, but also for the McLaren-Honda fans around the world that have supported us during the last three seasons."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
