Hamilton 'emotional' at guard of honour

Cape Town - Lewis Hamilton made an emotional return to Brackley on Monday where he was greeted by a guard of honour by the Formula One team.

The British racer wrapped up his fourth World title, his third as a Mercedes driver, in Mexico last month.

However, it wasn't until Monday that he finally had the opportunity to celebrate with the team personnel based in Brackley.

"This a very emotional day. I was not expecting this," Hamilton said after receiving a guard of honour.

"Today is something that I will never forget, turning up at the front gate of the factory and seeing everyone out on the street to welcome me - I'm blown away.

"This has been an incredible year, it's been an incredible journey together.

"There's a huge amount of respect and appreciation I have for everyone.

"Thank you all for helping me achieve my dreams, it would not have been possible without you."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
