Schumi injury shocks Vettel

Cologne - German Formula One quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel said on Monday he was shocked by the skiing accident that left his compatriot Michael Schumacher with a serious head injury.

"I am shocked and I hope that he'll be feeling better as soon as possible," Vettel, 26, told German sporting news agency SID.

"I wish his family much strength now."

Schumacher, who turns 45 on Friday, remains in critical condition after neurosurgical surgery at a Grenoble hospital, following his skiing accident on Sunday when he fell and hit a rock.
