Ogier leads Rally of France

Strasbourg - Sebastien Ogier won five of Saturday's nine stages to take the lead after the second day of the Rally of France.

The Frenchman leads Daniel Sordo of Spain by 9.5 seconds. Petter Solberg of Norway was in third place, 51.9 seconds off the pace.

Ogier could cut defending champion Sebastien Loeb's lead in the overall standings to one point if he wins the rally and Sunday's power stage.

Loeb retired on Friday because of an engine failure.

Mikko Hirvonen of Finland was in fifth place but is likely to benefit from team orders on Sunday to leapfrog compatriot Jari-Matti Latvala into fourth place and boost his chances in the world title race.
