Massive crash at Abu Dhabi GP

Abu Dhabi - Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was fortunate to walk away unscathed after a massive crash with Navain Karthikeyan's Hispania in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix here on Sunday.

German Rosberg's car smashed into the rear end of Karthikeyan's slower car and took off - flying over the Hispania before landing and hitting the barriers in the ninth lap of the 55 laps race.

Both drivers were unhurt in the accident at around 310 kph as the race was suspended for the introduction of a safety car at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Karthikeyan, 35, appeared to lift off and slow down and was not seen by Rosberg, 27, who could not avoid hitting him.

Pole sitter Lewis Hamilton was leading at the time with series leader Sebastian Vettel placed 12th and his main rival for the championship, Fernando Alonso, in fourth.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
