Silverstone - Germany's Stefan Bradl (Kalex) triumphed in the Moto2 race at the British Grand Prix here on Sunday, ahead of Britain's Bradley Smith (Tech3) and Italy's Michele Pirro (Moriwaki).
Despite sliding twice on the wet track, Bradl was able to claim his fourth victory in six races since the start of the season and galvanise his position atop the Moto2 standings.
With Spain's Julian Simon, Bradl's nearest rival in the overall standings, absent due to a double leg fracture and third-place Andrea Iannone starting from 33rd place on the grid, Bradl enjoyed a largely untroubled afternoon.
Having seen off early challenges from Scott Reddding (Suter) and Mattia Pasini (FTR), Bradl then saw pole-sitter Marc Marquez fall on the seventh lap to hand him a straightforward path to victory.
