Washington - USA President Donald Trump has congratulated John Daly for winning his first Champions Tour title.
Two-time major winner Daly, 51, had not won on tour since the PGA Tour's 2004 Buick Invitational.
Daly, who endorsed Trump during his USA Presidential campaign, was wearing American flag pants when he won the Champions Tour's Insperity Invitational by a stroke at The Woodlands in Texas on Sunday.
Trump is an avid golfer who owns more than a dozen golf courses and says he likes to use the game to conduct business.
Daly broke onto the scene by winning the 1991 PGA Championship after being the last alternate into the field.
His other major title came at the 1995 British Open.
Trump tweeted his congratulations to Daly early on Monday, writing: "John is a great guy who never gave up - and now a winner again!"
