Cape Town - South African golfer Branden Grace has moved into the top 10 of the official world golf rankings for the first time.
When the rankings were updated after the past weekend's action, Grace moved into 10th spot - a new career-best.
The 27-year-old Grace boasts 10 professional career wins, with his most recent being the European Tour’s Qatar Masters last month.
His best result in a major championship was third, achieved at last year’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits. There he finished five shots behind eventual winner Jason Day from Australia (-20) and two behind runner-up Jordan Spieth from America.
Grace is the highest-ranked South African golfer on the list, with Louis Oosthuizen (21st) and Charl Schwartzel (31) his nearest ranked compatriots.
Schwartzel soared 12 spots in the rankings though, courtesy of his Tshwane Open win at the weekend.
