Cape Town - Jack Nicklaus has had his hand in hundreds of courses across the globe, but none of them are in Turkmenistan.
In fact, a quick Google search will reveal that there are no golf courses in Turkmenistan whatsoever.
But that is all about to change. The nation will host the Asian Games in 2017 and President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov wants a golf course ahead of the influx of tourists.
"I don't really know why the president wanted golf," Nicklaus said.
"He has about 2 500 ex-pats who live in Ashgabat who wanted golf. He knows that golf is an Olympic sport and he's got the Asian Games next year. He wanted the golf course done before that."
For a country that only issues around 1 000 tourist visas a year, let's hope Nicklaus' golf course gets some visitors.
