Akron - Tiger Woods, winless in his first seven PGA Tour starts this year, will defend his title at next week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, the world number one said on Wednesday.

Woods will return to the August 5-8 tournament at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, an elite event he won for a record seventh time last year after a final round five-under-par 65 to win by four strokes.

"It's one of the best courses we play all year," Woods said in a statement posted on his website on Wednesday. ( "Everything is right in front of you."

Woods, coming off a tie for 23rd at the British Open earlier this month, will then launch his bid for a 15th major title at Whistling Straits the following week.

7 tournaments..winless. Shame. So the bloke is human after all. Still, he has 14 majors under the belt, but nice to know he is now one of the boys.

Tiger was found in the Woods last night.......

Tiger stopped counting titles - he prefers counting titties.

@ StuartW - -you forgot to add "...with my mommie." @ morris -- you forgot to add "just ask my sister/girlfriend/wife"

  • morris - 2010-07-29 13:56

@Daniel - still wishing you were one of Tiger's girls? You clearly need another hiding you freak!

  • Daniel - 2010-07-29 15:53

@ Morris: Just tired of your stupid Tiger jokes and trying to get down to your dim-wit level, you fool. Now, run along and play with your own titties. . And give your self a hiding while doing it. Because I know you can't count, idiot

I agree that the jokes about Tiger's personal life are really getting old. Stuart and Morris, if you can't take the abuse and bite back from TW fans, don't dish out the (TW) jokes/comments. If you can't make a comment relevant to the article about TW's ability to defend the WGC title, then SHUT UP.. Otherwise, go comment on an article where they are discussing his divorce and personal life, and add your 2 cents/jokes there..

I have apologised in public (to a select view - just like Tiger). Were Richard and Daniel not invited? I did mention your names and my apology to specifically the two of you, and to the great Tiger, was as sincere as Tiger's apologies during his press conference. Again: Richard, Daniel and all the Tiger fans and to the great Mr. Woods himself, please forgive me. Sniff.....
