Woods hit by rehab sex ban

Mississippi - Golfing superstar Tiger Woods faces an 18-week sex ban as part of his treatment for sex addiction.

According to The Sun website, the world No 1, is wildly believed to be spending six weeks at a rehab clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

A former patient said: "You can't have sex and can't get excited. That continues for 90 days after you are discharged."

Woods will also have to sign a "celibacy contract" and write an "empathy letter" to shattered wife Elin Nordegren.

The father of two cheated on his wife with a string of women, with reports putting the figure at up to 14.

Ex-patient Benoit Denizet-Lewis said: "If they are serious about repairing the marriage, she will be spending some time in treatment with him."

Woods, who became a punch line for comedians after his early morning car crash in November 2009, has said he is taking an indefinite leave from golf to sort out his personal life, giving no hint as to when he might return.

Woods has missed two events on the PGA Tour this season, but could return in time for the Masters at Augusta starting on April 8.
