Wilson given BMW PGA invite

Casares - Oliver Wilson of England has been given an invitation to play in next week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, where he lost in a playoff in 2008.

The former Ryder Cup player lost his European Tour card last season for the first time since qualifying for the circuit in 2005, meaning he has been relying on invitations and competing in lesser tour events.

Wilson lost a playoff to Miguel Angel Jimenez at Wentworth four years ago - one of nine second-place finishes in his career.

Wilson says "it was one event I dearly wanted to play ... it's nice that the organizers have remembered how close I went to victory."

Wilson finished fourth at last week's Madeira Islands Open, his best result in nearly 20 months.
