Tiger takes out $54m mortgage

Florida - Tiger Woods has reportedly taken out a $54 million mortgage for his mega-mansion under construction on Florida's exclusive Jupiter Island.

Legal documents filed in Martin County on August 27 - just days after his divorce from Elin Nordegren - list Woods as a "single man" and reveal Woods would pay back the loan by January 15, 2016. So, it seems there's one group of people counting on Tiger to make a comeback - his lenders, gossip website TMZ reports.

The documents also reveal that Woods's property spans three parcels of land.

The estate will also include a tennis court, oxygen therapy room, several swimming pools and a fitness centre.

Woods reportedly moved into an apartment in downtown Manhattan just days after he finalised his divorce from Elin Nordegren.

The disgraced golfer officially ended his six-year marriage with Nordegren on August 22.

The divorce came 10 months after Woods crashed his SUV outside his family home in Florida, following an apparent dispute with Nordegren.

The accident gave rise to numerous reports of infidelity by Woods, who has gone winless on the PGA Tour this year amid his marital woes.

As part of their divorce settlement, Nordegren and Woods will share custody of their two children - daughter Sam, three, and son Charlie, 18 months.
