Sawgrass - Police handcuffed and hauled away a golf fan zapped with a Taser for heckling Tiger Woods at the Players Championship.
According to The Mirror website, the 50 00-volt stun gun was used on Travis Parmelee, 36, after he yelled abuse at the star, who has been shamed by revelations about a string of extra-marital affairs.
Parmelee, said to have been drinking heavily, was charged with "disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest".
Police chief Dave Messenger said: "Our goal is to escort people off the property but it was clear he wasn't going to stop. Most people want to watch golf but others come to drink."
The incident was at the 11th hole in Sawgrass, Florida, during the second round of the Players Championship.
A tournament spokesperson said: "Our position is and has always been that anything that disrupts the competition or the enjoyment of our fans will be dealt with accordingly, as was the case here."
Woods was forced to withdraw from the tournament during the fourth round after hurting his neck.
