Charl Schwartzel (Gallo)

Dubai - South African Charl Schwartzel recorded a hole-in-one early in his Dubai World Championship first round on Thursday.

The world number 37 moved to two-under-par for the final European Tour event of the season when he aced the 186-yard sixth.

Schwartzel's approach with a seven-iron landed five feet short and went on to trickle into the cup.

He responded with a big smile before high-fiving his caddie and playing partner Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain.

Schwartzel also carded a birdie four at the second but that was cancelled out by a bogey five at the next hole.

The 26-year-old won back-to-back European Tour events at the start of the season, at the Africa Open and Joburg Open.
