Cape Town - Tiger Woods has revealed his new firm and logo as he prepares for the next chapter of his golfing career.
Woods, who put the brakes on his intended comeback at last week's Safeway Open because he didn't feel his game was ready for the big time, officially unveiled the next chapter of his career on Monday - Tiger Woods Ventures, under the brand name 'TGR'.
The new firm comes with a brand spanking new logo, which Woods now sports as a Twitter avatar and will no doubt appear somewhere on his equipment and apparel when he does finally return to the game (most likely at the Hero World Challenge on December 1).
The aim is to consolidates all of Woods’ businesses under one banner.
"As I work toward returning to the sport I love, I'm also taking the next step in what I like to call Chapter 2: my evolution as a competitor off the course," Woods said on his website.
"That next step -- and my next chapter -- is TGR."
While it may look like Woods is already moving into his post-playing career phase, he assured his fans that he has been hard at work on his comeback on the course, joking about what he'd been doing with his time off.
"To clarify, I have not been lounging around watching 'Caddyshack' and playing video games. Well, maybe not the video games. I thought I was damn good at Call Of Duty until I went online and was beaten by 7 year olds around the world.
"Which brings me to my point. It's just the opposite. I've been working harder than ever with a focus on our future."
On the philosophy behind the new logo, Woods added: "Three triangles signify our mindset, method and mastery. And when you look closer, you see that the mark reveals more than what's on the surface.
Do you guys see the W? The tiger's paw? Its stripes? And the abstract 'Woods'?
Even three trees because I've been known hit into them -- my last name is Woods after all. The mark shows that we're always focused."
He concluded:
"As I enter this next chapter with TGR, I'm committed to building a legacy that goes beyond just me. Because true excellence -- TGR's kind of excellence -- knows no limits. "
