Cape Town - South Africa's Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen will tee off in the PGA Tour's BMW Championship in Lake Forest on Thursday.
Only the top 70 players on the FedEx Cup standings advanced through to Conway Farms Golf Club this week.
At the end of this weekend, only 30 golfers will advance through to the final FedEx Cup tournament - the Tour Championship.
Schwartzel was the only South African to make the cut for the Tour Championship last year, when he finished 25th in the FedEx Cup standings.
This year, the 2011 Masters champion currently lies 43rd in the FedExCup standings and needs a top finish in order to qualify for next week's Tour Championship in East Lake.
Oosthuizen on the other hand has had a stellar year as he has only missed one cut this entire season.
The 2010 Open Championship has secured nine top 25 finishes in 17 events, including two runner-up finishes in the Players Championship and PGA Championship.
Oosthuizen currently sits 24th in the standings and another solid performance will secure his place for East Lake.
Schwartzel tees off on Thursday alongside American Bryson DeChambeau and South Korean Si Woo Kim at 16:22 (SA time).
Meanwhile Oosthuizen will be paired with America's Patrick Reed and Russell Henley at 16:55 (SA time).
