Cape Town - South African golfing legend Gary Player believes that Tiger Woods should be shown some "love" after his run-in with the law this week.
Police found Woods asleep at the wheel of his car in Florida on Monday, with video footage emerging later of him looking completely disoriented as he stumbled his way through the road-side sobriety tests.
Woods was arrested, and it was later confirmed that there was no sign of alcohol in his system.
Instead, Woods confirmed that his 'episode' was the result of a bad reaction to certain prescription drugs.
Whatever the cause, it is clear from the video footage that Woods was not in a good way, and it prompted concerning words from the golfing community with Jack Nicklaus leading the chorus of golfers giving Woods their support.
On Wednesday, Player took to Twitter to reach out:
"Now more than ever @TigerWoodsneeds our love, support & understanding. This is how I wish to see him," Player wrote underneath a picture of a smiling Woods in his prime.
Just last week, Woods had said that he was feeling better than he has in years after undergoing back surgery and that he fully intended to make a comeback to professional golf.
Woods currently sits on 14 major titles and needs another four to tie Nicklaus' record of 18.
