Rory's race to be fit for year's final major

Cape Town - World number one Rory McIlroy could be a surprise inclusion in field for next week's 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

McIlroy ruptured ankle ligaments on July 4 which prevented the Northern Irishman from defending his Open Championship at St Andrews.

McIlroy, who broke the news of his injury on social media platform Instagram, again took to the site to give fans a glimpse into his rehabilitation programme.

The video has increased speculation that the star golfer may yet tee off at Whistling Straits on Thursday, August 13 when the year's final major gets underway.

The four-time major winner is the defending champion after winning the 2014 event at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
