Charlotte - The PGA of America announced on Tuesday it would stage the 2017 PGA Championship at the Quail Hollow course in North Carolina.
It will mark the third occasion the PGA will be held in North Carolina, and the first for the largest city in the state.
Organisers expect the tournament to draw about 50 000 a people per day and tens of millions of dollars in economic revenue to the city and surrounding areas.
Quail Hollow has hosted a PGA Tour tournament for the past seven years.
