Immelman pulls out of Memorial
2010-06-02 22:16
Johannesburg - South African Trevor Immelman has pulled out of this week's Memorial tournament with a wrist injury.
Immelman was at Muirfield Village on Wednesday before leaving the course.
"I have hurt my wrist practicing here at The Memorial this week and I'm unable to play. I'm on my way to NY to see my surgeon," he wrote on Twitter.
Immelman won the 2008 Masters but he was limited to 13 events last year due to tendinitis in his left wrist. He had surgery in October and was sidelined for nearly five months before returning to competition in late February.
The 30-year-old Immelman has posted just two top-25 finishes in nine starts this year and has missed the cut in his past two tournaments.
Immelman was replaced in the Memorial field by Jeff Maggert.
