Molinari back to qualifying school

St Andrews - Former Ryder Cup player Edoardo Molinari will have to return to the European Tour qualifying school for the first time since 2008 after ending his season early.

Molinari, who was part of the winning European team at Celtic Manor in 2010, pulled out of this week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St. Andrew's.

The 34-year-old Italian says on Twitter on Thursday: "Unfortunately I had to pull out from Dunhill Links and the remaining events for personal reasons. My next tournament will now be Q-School."

Molinari is 154th on the Race to Dubai with only the top 110 retaining their cards.

The two-time European Tour winner has failed to record a top-10 finish in 2015. He is ranked No. 279, after a career-high of No.14 in October 2010.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
