Emirates brings Clarke to Joburg Open

Johannesburg - Emirates Airline, the official airline of The European tour, has partnered with Darren Clarke to bring the recently selected European Ryder Cup captain to South Africa for the Joburg Open.

Clarke delighted the field at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club on Tuesday when he took part in the Pro AM competition, leading one of Emirates’ Pro AM teams in the traditional curtain raiser ahead of the Joburg Open.

Fouad Caunhye, Emirates Regional Manager for Southern Africa said: “We are proud to have been able to play a part in bringing a player of Darren Clarke’s calibre to the Joburg Open. Through our involvement with golf, we are able to create a positive association between Emirates and the sport, and truly connect people with their passion. The Joburg Open is one of 24 Emirates sponsored events that form part of the European Tour international schedule, which also includes the South African Open, the Emirates Australian Open, BMW PGA Championships (UK) and the Boeing Classic (USA) on the PGA Champions Tour in America.
