Lytham - Top-ranked Luke Donald will be without his regular caddie as he looks to revive his challenge at the British Open on Friday.
Donald wrote on Twitter that he had given bagman John McLaren the day off "to welcome his 1st child into the world" with wife Helen.
Gareth Lord, the caddie of Swedish player Robert Karlsson, will carry Donald's bag as the Englishman looks to improve on his opening round of level-par 70 on Thursday.
Karlsson was due to play at Royal Lytham & St. Annes but withdrew on Wednesday to address "bad habits" in his game.
