Advertorial: Turkey World Final awaits 5 amateur golfers who make the cut

It is official!

World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC), the world’s largest amateur golf tournament, is gearing up for a spectacular 21st World Final in Turkey this year.

Now the search is underway for the Zulu Kingdom TEAM South Africa who will have the honour of defending the title and bringing the trophy back home. After hosting this prestigious event in KwaZulu-Natal for the past four years, World Golf Events South Africa has announced that the mantle has been handed over to Belek Antalya Turkey, where the stage is being set for a once in a lifetime experience for five amateur golfers who make the team cut.

“World Amateur Golfers Championship is about playing at world class golfing destinations on award winning courses annually. Representing the cream of amateur golfers from your country against golfers from all over the world for the WAGC title and trophy is within the reach of any amateur golfer who enters and meets the competition eligibility,” said Event Director, Beverley Theron of World Golf Events South Africa.

Unlike most amateur events, the WAGC tournament is played in five different flight categories 0-25 against golfers in the same handicap range. This allows golfers the rare opportunity to compete in a professional tour comparison competition that begins as a national tournament and finishes in a grand world final against participants from all around the world.

The first of three regional qualifiers will teed off on October 14 in Johannesburg at Glendower Golf Club. The second qualifier will be played in KwaZulu-Natal on October 20 at Cotswold Downs Golf Estate followed by the final qualifying round in Cape Town on October 22 at Mowbray Golf Club. Golfers who finish in the top three of their flight division (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25) will go on to contest the one winning spot for each flight at the South Africa final.

“With one paid entry into any of the three regional qualifiers, you stand a chance of winning two all expenses paid trips, if successful in both rounds. The first is to the SA final followed by the World Final in Belek Antalya, Turkey, plus there is the prestige of traveling abroad as a proud member of Zulu Kingdom TEAM South Africa. This is truly a dream opportunity that is not to be missed. Entries are officially open and are filling up fast,” concludes Beverley Theron.
