Cummings takes Race 3

Cape Town -  Barloworld's Stephen Cummings was the winner of Race 3 of the Cape Argus PPA Giro del Capo Challenge on Friday amidst a heat wave in the Western Cape.

Johann Rabie, riding for Neotel, finished in second place followed by Dennis van Niekerk (Konica Minolta).

Barloworld has managed to win the first three Giro del Capo races, making them a strong favourite for Sunday’s fourth and final race, the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.

“Luckily the wind and rampant fires elsewhere in the Boland did not affect today’s race. It’s just the heat. It really is very, very hot out there,” commented David Bellairs, Co-Director of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust.
