Durban - Thandi Tshabalala has been cleared to resume bowling his off-spin delivery, but his doosra remains an illegal delivery following the independent review of his bowling action at the internationally (ICC) accredited testing centre.
Following the test conducted on his bowling action, the independent assessment has revealed that his bowling action of his off-spin delivery is legal, however the doosra delivery is illegal and contravenes Law 24.2 (as read with Law 24.3) of the Laws of Cricket.
In accordance with the ICC regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions (effective October 6, 2015) Tshabalala will be allowed to continue bowling in Franchise or Senior Provincial Cricket but subject to the warning that should he continue to bowl any of the specific type(s) of delivery for which he has been found to have an Illegal Bowling Action, he will run the risk of being cited a second time.
Last month the Dolphins confirmed that Tshabalala has been released from the franchise.
