Samuels replaces De Kock for Daredevils

New Delhi - West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels on Thursday replaced South Africa's Quinton de Kock in the Delhi Daredevils squad for the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Injured wicketkeeper-batsman De Kock was ruled out ahead of season 10 of the cash-rich league with a finger injury acquired during the New Zealand tour last month.

Samuels, 36, who represented the now defunct Pune Warriors in 2013, returns to the Twenty20 event after going unsold in the February auctions, tournament organisers said in a statement.

The Jamaican-born top-order batsman, a veteran of 71 Tests, 187 one-day internationals and 55 twenty20 internationals, is also a useful off-spinner.

The Zaheer Khan-led Delhi outfit are languishing at seventh place in the eight-team table with just two wins from six matches.
