Proteas pay tribute to Johnson

Cape Town - As quick as they come, Mitchell Johnson has clearly left an impact on the cricketing world.

As tributes poured in on Tuesday following the 34-year-old's sudden retirement from all international cricket, there were a few Proteas who took to Twitter to congratulate their nemesis on his time out in the middle.

Johnson played in 12 Tests against the Proteas since 2008, taking 64 of his 313 Test wickets against the South Africans at an average of 25.64.

He played in 17 ODIs against the Proteas, taking 26 wickets along the way.

Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis were among the South Africans to commend Johnson on his career.
