Cape Town - Aiden Markram, who led South Africa to the ICC under-19 World Cup title last year, has been named to lead the SA Invitation XI in the opening game of England’s tour of South Africa later this month.
The match, a three-day fixture, will take place at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom from December 15 to 17. The match will not have first-class status as both sides will be allowed to use their full squads.
“The squad consists mainly of SA Academy players plus a few who have just started to make their mark at franchise level,” commented CSA High Performance Manager, Vincent Barnes.
“It will be a wonderful opportunity for these players to show what they can do against world-class opposition.”
