Kiwis receptive to day-night Test in India

Wellington - New Zealand Cricket says it is receptive to playing a day-night Test during its tour to India this year if certain conditions are met.

An announcement last week by an Indian official that one of the Tests on New Zealand's tour would be a day-night match took New Zealand by surprise.

But a meeting between NZC chief executive David White and Indian officials has smoothed the way for the first day-night Test in India, likely in Mumbai.

India will trial a pink ball in domestic matches to determine how it wears and how well it can be seen in local conditions.

New Zealand played Australia in the world's first day-night Test in Adelaide last year. White said NZC believed day-night tests would play a big part in cricket's future.
