Hastings signs for Worcestershire

London - Worcestershire have signed Australia international John Hastings as their overseas player for the 2017 season, the English county announced on Friday.

The 30-year-old all-rounder, capped 29 times by his country, has spent the past two seasons at Worcestershire's domestic rivals Durham.

"I am already looking forward to next summer and linking up with a club who are developing such an exciting group of young players," Hastings said in a statement on the club website.

"If I can help in any way with that development, I will be delighted."

Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: "John will give us a little bit of pace with the new ball. He is a competitive character on the field, but a champion of a bloke in the dressing room."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
