England ask India to bat in first T20

Kanpur - England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl against India in the first Twenty20 international in Kanpur on Thursday.

The visitors, who lost the three-match ODI series against India 2-1, have added pacers Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan along with the fit-again batsman Joe Root and leg-spinner Adil Rashid to their starting XI.

A new-look India have handed the Kashmiri off-spinner Parvez Rasool his T20 debut, while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was preferred ahead of the veteran Amit Mishra.

The match is Virat Kohli's first T20 assignment since he took over from Mahendra Singh Dhoni as India's permanent limited overs captain.
