Donald to take reins at Knights

Cape Town - Former Proteas fast bowler Allan Donald will take over as coach of the Knights on a short-term basis, Netwerk24 reports.

The Knights’ current head coach, Nicky Boje, will take part in the Masters Champions League (MCL) T20 event in the UAE which will see Donald take the reins in his absence.

Boje, a former Proteas spinner, will play for the Libra Legends alongside compatriot Jacques Kallis in the MCL event which will take place from January 28-February 14.

Boje, who previously completed the Berlin marathon, will also tackle the Mumbai marathon on January 17.

While Boje is gone, Donald will take over as head coach of the Knights having served as an assistant coach in the recent RAM SLAM T20 event.

Donald was also the Proteas’ bowling coach between 2011 and 2015.
