CSA accepts Dan Retief's apology

Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) has accepted veteran sports journalist Dan Retief for an insensitive tweet he posted on Twitter.

Retief took to social media on Sunday after the Proteas’ series-clinching ODI win over England at Newlands, tweeting:

“SA carried to victory by two White Afrikaners…politicians and media commentators take note….for what it is worth.”

CSA took strong exception to the tweet, but confirmed that Retief had apologised.

CSA president Chris Nenzani told EWN Sport that they received an e-mail from Retief apologising to the sports body.

“We have accepted that apology and the matter will be considered as being concluded. We have a national team for all South Africans.”

Retief was heavily criticised on Twitter before also apologising via his official account:
