Afghanistan qualify for World T20 Super 10

Nagpur - Afghanistan qualified for the Super 10 stage of World Twenty20 with a 59-run victory over Zimbabwe in its last first round Group B match Saturday.

All-rounder Mohammad Nabi (52) scored his maiden half-century to propel Afghanistan to 186-6, then leg-spinner Rashid Khan (3-11) choked Zimbabwe to 127 all out with two balls to spare.

Afghanistan will now join England, West Indies, South Africa and Sri Lanka in the Group 1 of Super 10 stage starting next week.

Samiullah Shenwari also scored 43 off 37 balls and put on a match-winning 98 runs with Nabi after Zimbabwe took four wickets in 19 balls and pegged back Afghanistan to 4-63.

Nabi hit four boundaries, two sixes and cut loose late as Afghanistan added 77 runs in the last five overs.
