Windies recall duo for CWC

Antigua - Veteran batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin have been included in West Indies' preliminary 30-man squad for next year's cricket World Cup.

The pair missed the recent tour of Sri Lanka because of injury but will be fit for the tournament on the subcontinent, which begins on Feb. 19.

Legspinners Devendra Bishoo and Anthony Martin, who impressed in a domestic one-day tournament in October, were also included but pace bowlers Fidel Edwards and Jerome Taylor have not recovered from injuries in time.

Offspinner Shane Shillingford was picked in the squad, which must be trimmed to 15, but is in doubt after being suspended by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday for having an illegal bowling action.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
