London - Chris Tremlett has been rewarded for his exploits in the Ashes series by being awarded an incremental contract by England for 2010-11.
The Surrey fast bowler qualified for the contract having played for England in the final three Ashes Tests and three One-Day Internationals in the tour of Australia.
Tremlett claimed 17 wickets after coming into the side as a replacement for the injured Stuart Broad midway through the Ashes series, which England won 3-1.
National selector Geoff Miller says England is "delighted with the contribution Chris has made in both forms of the game."
Players who don't have a 12-month central contract with England can earn an incremental contract by playing a pre-determined number of matches during that period.
