Johannesburg - The Titans domestic cricket franchise said on Thursday they had extended coach Chris van Noordwyk's contract for the 2010/2011 season.
In his first year as coach Van Noordwyk led the team to the semifinals of the MTN40 and Standard Bank Pro20 Series, and the side finished runners-up in the SuperSport Series.
"In renewing the coach's contract, the franchise is seeking to maintain continuity and build on the development of last season," Easterns Titans chairman Vincent Sinovich said in a statement.
The franchise also announced the signings of Henry Davids, CJ de Villiers, Jacobus Pienaar and Hardus Viljoen to the 2010/2011 squad.
"Jacobus Pienaar, a former pupil of Waterkloof High School, is a great prospect who has played for SA Under-19 in the 2003/2004 season," Van Noordwyk said.
"He was also selected for the SA U-19 Colts in the same year. He is a middle order batsman and right-arm seam bowler who started his senior cricket career at TUKS and is currently playing for Easterns.
"Hardus Viljoen is an opening bowler and lower order batsman who has represented Northerns Schools. He is also a product of Waterkloof High School whose senior cricket career started at Irene Villagers.
"Hardus is also currently playing for Easterns as part of the franchise arrangement."
