Johannesburg - The Easterns Titans Franchise has announced that the Nashua Titans captain, Pierre Joubert will step down as captain on March 31 after leading the team since 2008.
Joubert who made his First Class debut for Northerns in 1995/1996 as a 17 year old brings down the curtain to a three year reign during which he led the Titans to four trophies.
Vincent Sinovich, Chairman of the Easterns Titans Franchise Board and President of Northerns Cricket Executive said: "Pierre has been a committed servant to the Nashua Titans and the game of cricket.
"He was part of the representative sides from Under 13 and captained the Provincial Amateur team for two years before he was appointed captain of the franchise.
"He captained our franchise team with great success. In 2007/2008, the team won both the MTN Domestic Championship and Standard Bank Pro20 Series and followed this with success in the 2008/2009 by winning another two trophies, namely, the Domestic Championship and the SuperSport Series in that season.
"In 2005/2006 season he was honoured with the Provincial Player of the Year Award, but above all these achievements, he is a true gentleman of the game."
