Tendulkar returns to ODIs

New Delhi - Sachin Tendulkar will figure in an upcoming tri-series in Australia after he was named in a limited overs squad for the first time since last year's World Cup.

The tournament, also featuring Sri Lanka, is scheduled to run from February 5 to March 8.

Tendulkar has cut down on limited overs games but made himself available as India hope to bounce back after crashing to defeats in the first three games of an ongoing Test series in Australia to take their string of losses in away Tests to seven.

Tendulkar, who is on the brink of scoring 100 international centuries with 51 in Tests and 48 in ODIs, is part of a 17-member squad that will also be used to name the teams for two Twenty20 games on February 1 and 3.

Tendulkar does not play Twenty20 games for India.

Indian squad:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag (vice-captain), Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel.
