Cape Town - The Dolphins said goodbye to Kevin Pietersen on Sunday after his five-game Ram Slam T20 Challenge stint came to an end, but they may not have to wait too long to see him again.
Pietersen has left Durban to join the Melbourne Stars in Australia's Big Bash, but he will return to Kingsmead one more time should the Dolphins host the Ram Slam final.
Having won four out of five, that is a good possibility at this stage.
Should the Dolphins finish second or third on the log, they will have to play a semi-final. Pietsersen would, in all likelihood, not be available for that match.
"We will bring KP back for the final (if we qualify), but it is unlikely we will bring him back for the playoffs," Dolphins CEO Pete de Wet told Sport24 on Monday.
"This will not conflict with his Big Bash commitments."
Pietersen has scored two centuries and two half centuries in his five knocks for the franchise so far.
The Ram Slam T20 Challenge final takes place on December 12 and will be hosted by whoever finishes to of the log.
