Warriors declared victorious

Durban - A daring first innings declaration by Dolphins captain Imraan Khan on Saturday, virtually handed the Warriors an 88 run victory on a plate in their SuperSport Series cricket match which finished in Durban on Sunday.

With rain interuptions playing havoc on Friday, Khan obviously wanted to make a match of it when he declared his team's first innings closed on 70 without loss, in reply to the Warriors' 248 all out.

The Warriors then scored 96 for six before declaring their innings closed, leaving the Dolphins with a victory target of 275.

The chase never materialised and it was left to Jon Kent (27 not out) and a brave stand of 25 by Yusuf Abdulla at number eleven, to take the Dolphins to their 186 all out.

Garnett Kruger was the pick of the Warriors bowling and took five for 71 in the Dolphins' second innings.
