Bloemfontein - Seamer Johan van der Wath has been included in the Knights squad for their SuperSport Series match against the Titans in Kimberley, starting on Thursday.

Van der Wath was part of the 13-man squad for the match against the Cape Cobras last week, but did not travel to Cape Town.

Van der Wath missed the first three games of the tournament because of his knee injury. While he bowled well in the nets on Tuesday, a decision about his participation is likely to be put off until the last minute.

He will not be risked unnecessarily. The Knights want to keep him fresh for the upcoming MTN40 Championship.

However, this week’s fourth round of SuperSport Series matches is just as important. The Knights are one of four teams that have a win under the belt.

They beat the Dolphins in Kimberley, after which they drew away from home against the Lions and Cape Cobras.

The Titans are in a similar position with their win over the Warriors, after which they lost against the Cobras and Dolphins.

Meanwhile, spinner Con de Lange will make his return in Free State’s one-day game against Gauteng on Sunday. He has recovered from a shoulder injury.

Knights squad:

Morné van Wyk (captain), Dean Elgar, Reeza Hendricks, Rilee Rossouw, Boeta Dippenaar, Adrian McLaren, Ryan Bailey, Ryan McLaren, Johan van der Wath, Obus Pienaar, Dillon du Preez, Thandi Tshabalala, Victor Mpitsang
