Titans win toss, decide to bat

Centurion - The Titans won the toss and elected to bat first in their SuperSport Series match against the Knights in Centurion on Thursday.

The Titans are entering something of a new era and today’s match will be the first under a new coach, former England batsman Mathew Maynard while the experienced Martin van Jaarsveld has been named as captain in place of Jacques Rudolph.

The hosts have been strengthened by the inclusion of paceman Morne Morkel who should provide the Knights’ two talented opening batsmen, Reeza Hendricks and Dean Elgar, with a stiff challenge.

The Knights are a well-rounded outfit with Boeta Dippenaar and Morne van Wyk in the batting line-up while fast bowler Quinton Friend will make his debut after signing from the Dolphins.

Friend forms part of a formidable pace attack which also includes Johan van der Wath and Ryan McLaren.
