– The Titans are on course to win the SuperSport Series for a fourth time in
spite of their draw against the Dolphins in Benoni.
With
three matches left in the series, the Titans are runaway leaders on 83.98 at
the top of the log. The Lions are second on 59.74 after overtaking the Cape
Cobras with an impressive batting performance in their draw in Paarl.
The
Cape Cobras, who earlier did not get any points for the match against the
Knights in Bloemfontein that was rained out, slipped from second to fourth.
The
Cobras have 58.28 points, while the Dolphins are third on 59.38.
The
Warriors notched up their first win in seven attempts in Kimberley the past week,
with 16 wickets falling on the second as well as the third day. However, they
are still last on 39.08 in spite of the win by two wickets.
The
Lions’ Neil McKenzie is still the leading run-scorer, with 771 runs in 11
innings.
He
is one of three batsmen that have already scored more than 600 runs.
Team-mate
Zander de Bruyn has scored 653 runs, while Titans captain Jacques Rudolph has
scored 621 runs in 12 innings.
Rilee
Rossouw scored 1189 runs last season.
Dillon
du Preez’s record of 55 wickets in a season also appears safe.
Dolphins
spinner Imran Tahir took 42 wickets in just five games, but has been tripped up
by his national commitments.
